Ben Affleck looked forlorn while appearing to have a serious conversation with ex-wife Jennifer Garner on Wednesday.
The pair, who share three children, were photographed chatting as they dropped their kids off at school in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The “Air” star, 50, wore a pair of jeans, white Nike sneakers, and a plaid shirt under a gray peacoat.
He carried a cup of iced coffee while walking beside the “13 Going On 30,” star, 51, who cut a sporty figure in blue leggings.
Garner completed the look with a gray sweater, calf-length socks, running shoes, and a pink baseball cap.
After dropping off a tray of treats at their kids’ school, she returned to her car where she and Affleck continued to chat.
Reps for Affleck and Garner did not immediately return our request for comment.
The snaps come one week after the “Good Will Hunting” star was caught having an animated conversation with his wife, Jennifer Lopez, in their SUV.
Although an eyewitness claimed the pair were arguing, a source close to the couple told Page Six exclusively that they were simply chatting.
“You can clearly see they are having a conversation, and she is listening to him. He’s a storyteller and can be animated when he speaks,” the insider explained.
A few days later, fans thought the pair had another icy exchange on the red carpet at the premiere of her new movie, “The Mother.”
At first glance, Affleck looked annoyed while pointing his fingers at the “Let’s Get Loud” singer, 53, whose expressions suggested that they may have been having a disagreement.

However, a lip reader told DailyMail.com that the couple was merely discussing positioning before posing for photographers.
The expert said that Lopez appeared to ask the “Gone Girl” star whether her low-cut top was “showing too much,” prompting him to tell her it looked fine.
“Don’t worry, babe,” Affleck seemingly said as he leant towards her ear.
After posing together, he turned to the “Shotgun Wedding” actress and seemingly said, “That’s us, done,” before asking if she was OK to continue posing for snaps by herself.
“Yes,” she appeared to respond.
The couple, who got married last summer, found themselves in the headlines the following day when a seemingly agitated Affleck slammed the door of their car after Lopez climbed in.
However, video of the incident indicated Affleck was frustrated with the paparazzi, not his wife.
The Oscar winner previously joked that his resting sour expression was merely the result of genetics.
“Listen, I have a very unhappy-looking resting face,” he told Jimmy Kimmel last March.
He and Lopez first started dating in the early aughts and eventually rekindled their love in 2021 after their divorces from Garner and Marc Anthony in 2018 and 2014, respectively.
They now co-parent Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11, whom Affleck shares with Garner, and Lopez’s 15-year-old twins, Emme and Max, whom she welcomed with Anthony.
