Rumer Willis broke her own water while in labor with daughter Louetta.
The actress described the “crazy” experience during Monday’s episode of the “Informed Pregnancy Podcast,” explaining that her “water bag was bulging but still not popping.”
When her doula gave her permission to break the amniotic sac herself, Willis “reached [her] finger up there and could totally feel this little bag … like a water balloon but with a bit tougher skin.”
During her next contraction, the 34-year-old “popped it.”
She recalled, “There’s a photo of me, and I just have this look of shock and surprise on my face because it’s a different sensation when the water bag is pushing against your cervix to when the baby’s head is.”
Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s eldest daughter went on to describe pushing during her “unmedicated home birth” in April, saying she, her midwife and partner Derek Richard Thomas “caught” Louetta when she came out.
“It was the wildest thing,” Rumer gushed. “She had a cord wrapped around her neck, but it was also wrapped around her body in, like, almost, like, a prom sash.”
After Louetta was “untangled,” the new mom experienced “the most ecstatic, joyful moment” holding the infant while “sobbing with joy.”

As for some of the first words she said to the newborn, Rumer told Louetta, “I missed you so much.”
The little one made her Instagram debut in April, with the caption: “You are pure magic. … You are more than we ever dreamed of.”
Rumer revealed her and Thomas’ pregnancy news in December 2022, one month after they went public with their romance.
Moore posted her eldest child’s baby bump to her own account at the time, gushing, “Entering my hot kooky unhinged grandma era.”
The “Ghost” star was present when Rumer gave birth to Louetta, as were Moore’s other two daughters with Bruce — Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 29.
