Treat Williams’ daughter honored his legacy on Father’s Day — which came less than a week after his unexpected death.
On Sunday, Elinor “Ellie” Williams took to her Instagram Story to share two pictures of the late actor, born Richard Treat Williams.
“I love you, Dad,” the 24-year-old wrote atop a throwback photo of a young Treat playing with Ellie when she was a baby. “I miss you.”
On the second slide, which showed a more recent image of the beloved Hollywood star smiling while riding a tractor, Ellie explained, “I took this picture of my pops when I was in college. He’s so handsome 🤍.”
The “Everwood” star passed away last Monday following a motorcycle accident in Vermont. He was 71.
“He was making a left or a right, [and] a car cut him off,” Treat’s rep, Barry McPherson, said in a statement shortly after. “I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.”
McPherson added that Treat — whom he described as “the heart of Hollywood since the late 1970s” — was “an actor’s actor” whom “filmmakers” also “loved.”
Entertainers across the board — including Kim Cattrall, Hilaria Baldwin, Matt Bomer and Melissa Gilbert — came out in droves to pay their respects via social media.
Two days later, Ellie spoke out about losing her dad.
“This is a pain I have never felt,” she told her followers alongside an old photo of the “Hair” star. “I am absolutely shattered.”
Despite her “terrible heartbreak,” she made sure to thank “everyone who has sent messages and kept [her] family in [their] hearts.”
Treat had been married to Ellie’s mother — actress and producer Pam Van Sant, 68 — since June 1988.
The longtime couple welcomed 30-year-old son Gill Williams in December 1992, and Ellie arrived in September 1998.
