Billie Eilish is getting more comfortable showing off the tattoos she once said fans wouldn’t “ever see.”
The “Bad Guy” singer has been slowly adding ink to her body over the past few years, though she wasn’t always comfortable flashing her tats in public.
In 2020, the star — who had then just turned 18 years old — told Vanity Fair she had finally gotten her first tattoo, but swore to keep it hidden beneath her signature baggy clothes.
But oh, how times have changed. Below, see all of Eilish’s tattoos (so far) and learn more about their meanings.
“Eilish”
While Eilish had her last name inked on her chest “in an ornate, gothic font” the day after her major awards sweep at the 2020 Grammys, according to Rolling Stone, it took three years for her to reveal the artwork to the world.
“Yes, I love myself,” Eilish told Vanity Fair of the meaning behind the then-unseen ink in 2021.
In June 2023, the star flashed the tat for the first time in a rare bikini photo on Instagram, to the delight of her fans.
Fairies
Eilish debuted this magical design on her left hand at the “No Time to Die” premiere in September 2021.
Later that same year, she described the tattoo as her “little guardian angel fairies” in a Vanity Fair interview, adding that the characters are “from a book that I had growing up — a little fairy book called ‘Fairyopolis.'”
Dragon
Eilish previously referred to the hip-hugging dragon that climbs up from her right thigh as a “big boy” — and indeed, the mythical creature is enormous.
While she’s never shown off the entire thing at once, the singer first gave a glimpse at the tail end in her lingerie-clad cover shoot for British Vogue in May 2021.
She teased it again at the 2021 Met Gala, and later revealed the dragon’s head in a sultry Instagram selfie in May 2023.

Despite Eilish now having three known tattoos, don’t expect her to debut full sleeves anytime soon.
“No, I’m not gonna be all tatted up, but I have some more ideas. Right now, I feel pretty satisfied. I feel like in a good zone with them,” she told Vanity Fair in 2021, adding that her mom “hates” tattoos.
But, she promised, “Give me a little more time and then I’ll get another one.”
