Kevin Federline slams ‘distressing’ report claiming Britney Spears is ‘on meth’: ‘Lies’

Kevin Federline is slamming a recent report that claimed he “fears” ex-wife Britney Spears has been using crystal meth.

The former backup dancer — who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2007 — called out journalist Daphne Barak for “fabricating” his quotes, alleging on his Instagram Story that she “lied” in “distressing” reports published by the Sun and Daily Mail Saturday.

“It saddens our family that Daphne Barak and [her producer] Erbil Gunasti have decided to fabricate lies and publish the heart ache [sic] our family has endured, along with the trauma of our minor children in the Daily Mail and The Sun,” Federline, 45, wrote Sunday.

“We did allow Daphne & Bill into our home because we trusted them, but that trust was lost and we severed ties back in March for many reasons we choose not to go into here.”

Federline further claimed that Barak was harassing him.

“It is very distressing that she continues to harass our family when we have repeatedly asked her to leave us alone,” he wrote.

“As was previously published, our family did speak with Ms. Barak and Mr. Gunasti a few times, and this was done in a respectful way with love & compassion for Britney and the Spears family. Her lies and attempts to exploit minors is click bait and another repulsive example of where, unfortunately, certain journalism has sunk today.”

Although Gunasti’s byline did not appear on the stories, he shared them via LinkedIn, describing the Sun report as “our exclusive.”

“The question is: Isn’t it time to be real for a moment and pay attention to the message in this cover story? There is a likelyhood [sic] we may lose yet another celebrity for no reason,” he added in the post.

Page Six has reached out to Federline’s rep for comment, along with Barak and Gunasti.

Spears also reacted to the reports Sunday, writing in part via Instagram, “The fact that people are claiming things that are not true is so sad … This may not even be them saying such things because it doesn’t make any sense to me for them to be saying that.

“It breaks my heart and the news is so low … l’ve always felt like the news bullies me … It’s sad because everyone sits back as if that’s ok to make up lies to that extent … Why am I told I have to sit back and rise above ??? When they all go so low ??? Hopefully it is just the news being hateful.”

Spears, 41, has not further addressed the allegations.

In the initial report, Barak alleged Federline told her, “I fear [Britney’s] on meth – I’ve been praying someone would make it public and that she wakes up … It’s terrifying. She is the mother of my boys.”

Elsewhere in the report, the journalist claimed Britney’s estranged father, Jamie Spears, told her that he feared his daughter was heading down the same tragic road as Amy Winehouse, who died of alcohol poisoning at age 27 in 2011.

“Britney may die like Amy,” Jamie, 70, allegedly said, referencing the “Back to Black” singer.

“Compare her wellness then and how she is doing now,” Jamie, whom Britney accused of abuse during his time as her conservator, purportedly continued.

The report also alleged that Britney and Federline’s sons – Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16 – claimed to have seen drugs delivered to their mother’s home.

The reports come more than one year after Britney’s conservatorship, which controlled nearly every aspect of her life for over a decade, came to an end.

Page Six was first to report last month that Britney gave her kids permission to move to Hawaii with their dad after Federline threatened to take her to court.

The “Circus” singer — who recently deactivated her Instagram account again — is now married to actor Sam Asghari. They celebrated their first wedding anniversary this week.
